The Club’s social calendar this year centre’s on the clubs fantastic 50th anniversary celebration. The planned special open day event ties in with the RYAs “Sail for Gold” initiative to promote sailing across the UK and support our British Sailors in the Olympics. It’s going to be a glittering year all round!

A new feature for 2012 is a Sailors Sunday lunch/Buffet at the club..( Save you making sandwiches as we’re there anyway) hopefully enjoyed on the balcony with the usual banter of the first sailing race.
Any nice spells of weather can always lead to an impromptu evening BBQ or a drink on the Balcony-keep an eye on the website – we will be tweeting!
The old Club favourite socials for 2012 are back by demand such as party the night away, at our Push the boat out Calypso cocktail evening, Community Bonfire Spectacular and our annual Black Tie Christmas prize giving.
All evening social functions will commence 8.00 for 8.30 Dress to Impress.
April 8th –Easter Step your Mast Party- The season starts here!.
Start the season with a bang by getting your MAST UP !!! boat ready, step your mast and enjoy an evening of merriment and fun in the club house.
29th May – A Canon Start!- Tuesday
One for the parents and the juniors to get involved with a relay race and BBQ on Tuesday May 29th to celebrate the Olympic torch passing through the area.. Parents and volunteers welcome to join in the fun.
9th June - 50th Golden Anniversary Open Day Celebration Event
The main 2012 Event.. open day on Saturday 9th June which coincides with the national ‘Sail for Gold Day’- special golden prizes followed by an evening of music, dancing and fireworks (maybe it will be one of those memorable sunny days and we party all night!).
11 am start PSC HAVE A GO AT SAILING (Pen Olympics) Open day in shore race, Adult Course ,Jnr Course members have a go with participants on a fixed in shore course. (Cannon Starts) 3 laps.
8pm Evening presentation in the Marquee with live band and fireworks display.
Saturday 21st July- Push The Boat Out Calypso cocktail evening –
Get ready for the Olympics- an evening of fun and merriment with some Olympic themed activities. A three course dinner and dress to impress – we really do push the boat out when we want (AND our slipway will be longer this year!)
Members and Guests are always welcome at the legendary PSC socials.

We are please to announce that Mandy Williams is Social Secretary for 2012 so we can look forward to the excellent food and hospitality on all of the fund raiser events. The balcony was used to great effect last year and with luck the weather will hold for another year of relaxed, chillout evenings, parties and fun nights with the glorious scenery as our backdrop, where we can all let our hair down and enjoy each other’s company over a couple of tipples.
